PoolWaterLAB was founded by Ishtvan Kokhan, a pool industry professional who has been building pools since 1996 and training pool operators for the past 30 years.

Ishtvan is not a “tech inventor” working in a lab — he’s a working pool professional who has spent decades on real job sites and in real backyards. His experience covers the full scope of the industry: construction, service, water chemistry, and ongoing pool operations. Today, he continues to build and maintain both residential and commercial pools, while also running a service operation that supports customers year-round.

As an active instructor with the Pool & Hot Tub Alliance (PHTA), Ishtvan has trained countless pool professionals on water safety, chemistry fundamentals, and best practices in the field.
